PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Last April 2015, the Second Phase of the Colegio San Juan Evangelista, located in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), was inaugurated. It is an avant-garde endowment project carried out by architect Francisco Muñoz, from Traza Arquitectura, and executed by Constructora TILMON. The lighting project has been designed by the AOM Energy Efficiency Department, who has contributed his experience acquired in the many educational projects carried out so far.
The lighting studies developed have sought to adapt to the natural light of the building itself from the outset, with the minimum possible consumption. For the lighting design of the classrooms, they have been chosen P600 Slim Panels, associated with sensors with twilight regulation, which optimize the necessary artificial lighting at all times, depending on the time of day.
Special attention and care has been paid to the most representative common areas of the building. The Assembly Hall stands out for the creation of an artificial skylight at its entrance through the use of P600 Slim Panels. These have been combined with Downlights DW25 and courtesy perimeter lighting (TL7 LED Strips). DW18 Slim adjustable 1-10V have been used for its stage, due to its shared use as an Instrumental Music Room.
The Gym, one of the highest rooms in the building, has been solved with high intensity P600 Slim Pro Panels (75W) to avoid the accumulation of light points and dark areas on the ceiling, thus improving the spatial vision of the room .
Finally, the Chapel has wanted to provide its own and differentiated lighting treatment, through the use of low-intensity down-hung technical luminaires, which invite meditation and the calm that a place of worship requires.
